What is Anthropology?

A holistic study of how and why humans think, feel, act, relate – and do all the things we do. It is also a practical method and mindset that I share with family and friends, helping us find ease in rough patches, savor special moments - decoding the little and bigger pieces of our collective lives.

In work, my team and I use anthropology to build nurturing health technologies that create more meaningful in-person human interactions.

Anthropology is never static and celebrates the diversity of human experiences and voices. There is never just one definition of anthropology.

“Anthropology is the most humanistic of the sciences and the most scientific of the humanities.”

– Alfred L. Kroeber

“The purpose of anthropology is to make the world safe for human differences.”

– Ruth  Benedict

“Anthropology demands the open-mindedness with which one must look and listen, record in astonishment and wonder that which one would not have been able to guess.”

– Margaret Mead
